Masterson’s Tavern , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .

The State of Affairs: Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I entered , it was immediately obvious that cleanliness was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and dirty bathrooms permeated the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of excrement , old age and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The lavatory was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a broken handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was feces.
